The Federation receives many requests for animal-related information - what to do, where to go, who to talk to, etc. We created a list of resources to assist your quest for information. The resources are listed in five categories: National Agencies; Lost Pet Resources; Legal and Legislative Resources; Industry, Statistical Resources and Grant Funders; and Veterinary, Medical and Spay/Neuter Resources.
National Agencies:
Animal Rescue Corps - Assists with large scale rescues and conducts shelter/sanctuary evaluations
CATalyst Council - Dedicated to reaching out to all parties - the pet healthcare community, shelter and welfare organizations, government, commercial groups, and the public - to ensure that cats receive the proper care and attention they need and deserve.
Humane Society University - Offers courses on a wide range of naimal welfare related topics, from volunteer managment, animal care and humane education
National Association of Pet Rescue - Professionals, membership group whose mission is to provide the knowledge tools and connections rescue professionals need to save more pets
Pet Sitters International - Dedicated to educating professional pet sitters and promoting, supporting and recognizing excellence in pet sitting
Rescue Central (HSUS) - A resource program designed to help animal rescue groups professionalize and function at their highest potential.

Dog Bite Law - Includes information on potential adoption liability for dogs who have bitten

Limit Tethering - An all volunteer group of concerned citizens in Washington State who wish to see legislation passed in our state to limit the 24/7 continual tethering of dogs

Save Washington Pets - the name of the campaign to pass companion animal spay/neuter assistance legislation in Washington State

Spay Day USA - Annual campaign of The Humane society of the United States and Humane Society International to inspire people to save animal lives by spaying or neutering pets and feral cats
Spay USA - a program of North Shore Animal League America, a nationwide network and referral service for affordable spay/neuter services
Spay Washington - A program of SpokAnimal, is a statewide referral service for low-cost spay/neuter clinics
UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program - Goals of this program are to advance shelter medicine as a veterinary specialty through research, specialty training and education, and performance of veterianry service in animal shelters; and to improve the quality of life of animals in shelters through improvements in veterinary preventive medicine and management of disease.
